Criminal gang members have been warned they "better get used to being pulled over" as police look to clamp down on violent organised crime groups following a recent spate of public shootings, including the murder of two men earlier this week.

NSW Police Minister David Elliott says authorities will get everything they need to tackle violent and organised crime, including more police for the gang-targeting Raptor Squad.
Mr Elliott sought to reassure the public that community members are safe, however a number of criminal gangs were presenting an "unacceptable risk".
"We won't be taking a foot off the accelerator or off their throats," Mr Elliott said.
The announcement of extra resources for police comes after Salim Hamze, 18, and his father Toufik Hamze, 64, were shot dead in Guildford on Wednesday morning.
Police have said the shooting is linked to a dispute between "known families involved in serious and organised crime".
Late on Thursday night, police arrested a 29-year-old man, understood to be a member of the rival Alameddine family, after two shotguns and drugs were found during a raid on a Mays Hill home.
That raid came after a tip-off from the public, and police are appealing for more information from the community to target organised crime.
"These people live next door to someone," NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Tony Cooke said.
Mr Cooke said additional resources were not a response to the latest shooting, but rather "upping the ante, doubling down on what we've been doing for a long time".
He said criminals should be concerned police are targeting them and will "come knocking very soon".
"You cannot continue this behaviour in my community," Mr Cooke warned, saying criminals "do not deserve to be among us".
State Crime Commander Assistant Commissioner Stuart Smith said the criminals being targeted "better get used to being pulled over a lot".
"We will continue to ramp up the response, until all of these individuals are behind bars where they belong, or the conflict ceases," Mr Smith said.
He said police had already "diverted" four other murders and at least one kidnapping from occurring, and now have a "massive disruption capability" they haven't had before.
Mr Smith said feuds between rival gangs ultimately come down to making money and selling drugs and police didn't care which side of a feud the criminals they targeted were on.
"Both sides of this argument are sensationalising their own role and their own status in the world.
"The reality is they committed violent crime and we're not going to allow it.
"We are evenly applying pressure... and we will continue until they can have their argument in a maximum security prison," Mr Smith said.
A further 70 police have joined 115 officers in Strike Force Raptor with the goal of splitting up criminal groups, and Mr Smith said they are already "hard at this problem".
Mr Elliott said anyone who sought to criticise the addition of more police attached to the Raptor Squad "need to understand the people they're dealing with" and that "there's no easy way of policing criminal gangs".
"I will not be giving any quarter when it comes to how police respond," Mr Elliott said, warning gang members "their lives will be made miserable".
