Tristan Zerafa, 34, has been charged with unlawful assault, discharging pepper spray without justification and abusive language at Sunbury, in Melbourne's northwest, in December 2019.
Zerafa's matter was heard on Thursday at Broadmeadows Magistrates Court, where an adjournment seeking to have matter heard in Melbourne was granted.
The Brookfield man will next face court on May 11.
