
PENNANT
MIDWEEK
Premier Division: Played City Oval in Clunes. Clunes were able to win two rinks, with their skippers Mark Vorbach up by three and Alan Carnegie with Eileen Spong, John Dellavedova and Lois Hudson up by 12 shots. City Oval were able to win one rink by 14 shots. Clunes were able to scrape to outright victory by a solitary shot.
Division 4 Played central Wendouree in Clunes. It was a close game throughout the day. Clunes' skippers Danny Spong and Anne Shields were able to win their rinks to claim outright victory and all points.
SATURDAY
Division 2 Travelled into Ballarat to play BMS. BMS were sitting high on the ladder but at the lunchbreak, Clunes were leading in all four rinks. In a very tight finish BMS won the last end of the day to get home by five shots. Both teams were able to win two rinks with Clunes skippers Geoff Annear's rink up by a shot and Andrew Ingram with Narelle Vorbach, Alan Baird and Jeff Gale winning their rink by eight shots.
Division 6 Travelled into Ballarat to play Victoria. Each club were able to win two rinks, with Clunes winning outright 93 to 85.
TOP NOVICE
Clunes player, Val Jackson competed in the regional novice bowlers competition recently and was successful in winning the event and will proceed to next level. This is a fantastic achievement and honour for a first year player. Val has done the small club of Clunes proud.

CHAMPIONS
On Friday evening both the men and ladies club championship winners were decided.
The ladies championship saw experienced players and past championship winners Jenny Cameron and Debbie Annear play off. In a great game Jenny Cameron was crowned 2019/2020 champion.
The men's championship was played later in the evening, with past champions Alan Carnegie and Mark Vorbach playing off. In a marathon game that lasted more than three hours and finished under lights, Alan Carnegie was able to prevail.
