It rained sleet and goals in Ballarat, with Abdel Bennani netting three goals and Dragi Koleski two in a near best on ground performance.
The lads were buoyed by the return of Tim Leny, who played very well in midfield and setup some nice goals. Defence was excellent, led by a best on ground performance by Damien Tinetti.
Next weekend, Division 1 plays at home at 3pm - a win by a margin will all but secure the league. Division 2 plays Ballarat North at 1pm.
UNDER 13
Mother Nature wasn't the only one that delivered an amazing performance on the weekend.
She delivered beauty with a wonderful dumping of snow greeting players, but the under 13 Saints weren't going to let her have all the glory. They put on a beautiful display of football, particularly in the second half.
The first half was a physical one, and the teams went into half-time 0-0. The second half started with a struggle.
The Saints' determination in the middle of the ground - lead by Zach who started to grind away - resulted in opportunities at goal, but the team struggled to put the ball in the back of the net. Ten minutes in, the Saints hit the lead with a classy finish by Monty. Five minutes later he made it 2-0 with a stunning top corner free kick.
Otis and Tulley were fantastic in defence, rewarding midfielders with plenty of the ball. Mehdi, Logan and Tate had a great second half, and were influential.
The Saints played a fantastic brand of football, going on to win 3-0..The team is aiming to win both remaining matches, which will secure the championship.
The Under 12 girls game was snowed out.
