CRESWICK honoured its high achievers at the town's eighth annual Civic Honour Roll event on Friday, May 24.
Three former Creswick residents who dedicated their lives to helping others, serving their community and using their expertise to benefit the town were inducted to the honour roll posthumously.
Marie Christina Whitfield (1916-2007) was honoured for her lifetime of work with Creswick Hospital - professionally and as a volunteer - and to church activities and other Creswick groups while Thomas Joseph Dean (1932-1986), known as Joe, supported the town's football and netball players.
John Riordan (1840-1905) moved to Creswick in 1865 and soon after became an energetic and involved citizen.
He was a founding member of many community, sporting and welfare organisations in the town and district. Each inductee's name is engraved on a plaque which will soon be fixed to the Honour Roll Wall outside Creswick Visitor Centre.
