It was a somewhat surprising opening weekend for some teams in the Central Highlands Netball League A-Grade seniors.

The Lakies kicked off their search for back-to-back premierships with a resounding 20-goal victory over Rokewood Corindhap.
The Grasshoppers couldn't contain Jordan O'Keefe's virtually unchanged premiership side.
Elsewhere a battle of two top-four finishers from 2018 took place, with Buninyong registering a 26-goal win against Bungaree.
Hepburn showed their deep finals push was no fluke with an 80-goal win against the youthful rival Bulldogs.
Clunes and Creswick both narrowly missed the finals in 2018 and were looking to open their seasons in a strong way.
The Magpies proved too good in the end, doubling up the Wickers in a 44-22 victory.
Other results included 2018 runners up Springbank downing Newlyn by 14 goals, Gordon overcoming Skipton 55-36 and Carngham-Linton beating Beaufort 45-21.
