A popular rodeo is helping put Kingston on the map.
Kingston Rodeo organiser Brandon May said about 3000 people converged on the historic Kingston Showgrounds for the event.
“Kingston really isn’t on the map much. We have the Avenue of Honour and that is about it,” he said. “The Kingston Pub had been closed for 10 years and has just reopened. Having a rodeo and a pub open in a little town like this is great for the town. It brings people to town and puts us on the map.”

Competitors travelled from across the country and two visited from overseas. Some locals competed in the division two bull rides and 15 women from the region competing in barrel racing.
Money raised at the event will be donated to the Kingston CFA and Survivors of Suicide. Mr May said he plans to run the event again.
