With harvesting and distillation presentations, guided walks through the lavender fields with expert opinions on how to grow, cut and distill your own lavender at home, a children’s farm with a lavender unicorn, tours through the historic homestead, Morris dancing and lavender goodies and local mineral water available for purchase, the annual harvest day will be a treat for all.
Lavandula founder Carol White said the harvest at the 1850’s heritage property was smaller than expected due to recent frost but it would still be a great day for all.
The summer harvest is one of four seasonal events which are hosted at the property, located in Shepherds Flat, each year.
The lavender harvest festival will take place on January 13 at 350 Hepburn-Newstead Road, Shepherds Flat 3461.
