Just 10 points separated the two sides heading into round eight, with Creswick sitting in third spot as Central Wendouree knocks on the door of the top four. While two of the three rinks were fairly tight, Gerry Flapper’s rink proved pivotal, taking a 34 shots to 14 advantage.
The victory keeps Creswick settled in the top four while Central Wendouree lose further touch with the top four, after all sides above it won.
Ladder leader City Oval had a scare against ninth-placed Daylesford, but managed to secure a one-shot win. Another thrilling match was played out between Clunes and Smeaton. Smeaton came painfully close to its second win of the season, going down to Clunes by one shot, 69-68.
