After winning the toss, Trentham went into the game confident, bowling out Kyneton with 84 runs in the 30th over.
Trentham’s top bowlers were Isaac Jennings who had three wickets for 24 runs conceded while Adam Prewett also finished with three wickets for 17 runs conceded.
And in the field, Tom Boyer showed off his impressive reflex catch at the backward point to remove the Kyneton Captain.
The Saints then went in to bat with the confidence to chase down the 84 runs set by the opposition. Hunter Boyer and Harley Forgo opened the batting, although Boyer was bowled out by Kyneton’s Roy Frenando.
Chris Boyer then arrived and put the bowling attack on their back heels with some aggressive hitting across the field, ensuing in a 66 run partnership between Boyer and Forgo before Boyer skied a top edge and was dismissed on 37 runs.
In the 17th over, Trentham chased down the remaining runs to finish with 5/93 at stumps. Best batter was Chris Boyer with 37 runs and Forgo with 34 not out.
Trentham have a bye next round before the two-day match against Macedon on November 10.
