City Oval, which lost last season’s decider to Central Wendouree, won all three rinks in the 87-50 triumph.
Jenny Harman, Wayne Roberts and Ian Robinson were the successful skippers for the Hawks. Elsewhere on Monday, Avenue produced a shock by beating reigning three-time premiers Central Wendouree. The home side won two of three rinks in the triumph. In other games, Creswick opened its account for the new campaign with success over Daylesford, Sebastopol proved too good for Midlands Golf and Buninyong defeated Smeaton.
Round two of the Ballarat District Bowls Division competition gets underway next Monday. This Saturday, weekend pennant kicks off with round one matches.
