From simple sponges, to extravagant decorated delights, there is a category for every taste and baking ability.
Entries fall under six categories, including general cakes, slices and cupcakes, decorated cakes, savoury, pure wholegrain and a kids categories for entrants under 12 years of age.
The winner from each category will receive a prize valued at approximately $50 and a special winners rosette ribbon.
Prizes include a signed book from Annie Smithers, a Radio Springs Hotel voucher, $50 Red Beard Bakery voucher and more.
After judging is completed, all competition entries can be purchased from the cake stall with all proceeds going towards the upkeep of Lyonville Hall.
Lyonville Hall secretary Dorothy Fuller said the money raised would go towards buying furniture and equipment such as trestle tables so the hall could host more weddings.
She said the committee also wanted to purchase a mower.
Ms Fuller said this was her fourth year as the coordinator of the bake-off event and was proud to see how it had grown from year to year.
“We have really upped the ante in terms of providing prizes now,” she said.
She said the committee was always looking for more volunteers to assist with the hall’s annual fundraising events, which include the Lyonville Woodchop, Harvest Fair and Bake Off.
With live music, Devonshire tea, a book stall and crafts, it will be a great day out for the whole family.
A number of options will also be on offer for people with gluten and lactose allergies, so they need not miss out either.
This much anticipated annual event will be held on Sunday 21st October 2018 at the Lyonville Hall at Bremner Avenue, Lyonville from 11:30am – 3:30pm.
A gold coin donation is required for all entries which must be registered and received by 11am for judging to start soon after.
