An artisanal sector roadmap, backed by $2 million in grants, aims to support the sector by promoting the best of Victoria’s food, wine and agriculture.
The roadmap demonstrates the government’s support for growth through four key actions of promoting the sector’s diversity, building sector capabilities, facilitating access to government support and supporting sector-led development.
The first stage of the grants program is now open, with up to $5,000 available per applicant to address the immediate needs of producers and food businesses. During consultation, sector participants identified the need for skills development and small-scale equipment.
Minister for Agriculture Jaala Pulford said the program recognised the role the artisanal sector played in Victoria’s stellar food reputation and will help producers make the most of their products and ideas.
