The focus of Jerry’s presentation was his move to Brisbane in 2003 and the establishment of his organic garden on a bare suburban block, where he has given life to flowering plants, shrubs, trees and vegetables as well as 520 species of insects and other reptiles and mammals.
“All life is a bit of an experiment and every time I grow something I see that as part of my research. And I always keep records,” he said.
Phyllis Wright, President of the Creswick Garden Club, said she was delighted when Jerry accepted the invitation to present for the club.
“Every participant came away with knowledge of how to improve their gardens and what can be achieved in a small space... Jerry might have worked at Kew Gardens and Sydney Botanic Gardens but the message he gave us was relevant to the smallest spaces,” she said.
