The Bulldogs were one of 18 teams playing in the tournament for the 2018 Lightning Cup at Hepburn Recreational Reserve.
The round robin tournament is played instead of a finals series.
The Dogs, captained by Zach Koleski, won their two preliminary matches against Rokewood and Hepburn to place in the semi-final. They went on to beat Creswick, getting them through to the final match against Buninyong.
Team manager Sarah Hunt said the team played with heart in slippery and muddy conditions to win the cup.
She said the win had been “a long time coming”.
Most of the team has been training together since Auskick, so the team has been playing together for five years.
The team, made up of one girl among a horde of 20 boys, each took home a medal and a football.
