Strong numbers and growth in the five to 11 age group, especially girls, have enabled the club to finally achieve something players and parents had long been wishing for.
Following the false start to their season when their round one clash was forfeited, the Daylesford Hepburn United club made an excellent start in round two, but ultimately had to share the points with a determined Ballarat SC.
The senior's division 2 clash with Forest Rangers under lights at Morshead Park on Friday night ended in disappointment for the Daylesford/Hepburn side, with a 4-1 loss in spite of a very encouraging 1-1 half-time score.
Injuries and a limited bench possibly proved the difference with three goals to Forest coming late in the match.
The U15s probably would have wished for a better result given the effort of a long trip to take on Horsham, which ended in an 8-1 loss.
U13s were up against Sebastopol and came away with a very commendable three-all draw.
The new look U11 open team enjoyed a good result against Bacchus Marsh, with the lead changing hands many times throughout the match.
The U9 open team, largely new to competition, would have learnt a lot from their challenging match against Ballarat.
