This year, the show’s committee has increased the award prize pool to $5000.
Prizes include a “Best in Show Craft” award worth $1000.
An inaugural 2017 Gweneth Wisewould Portrait Prize will be a permanent award at all future shows. The award is sponsored by artist Rosemary Wilson.
This year, all portrait entries will be judged by David Bryant and Daniel Butterworth. Crafts will be judged by Tina Lee.
Funds raised at the 2017 show have sponsored the “Only a Jockey” project at Trentham Racecourse which will take place in March and April of 2018, as well as the building of benches at the “Inter-stallae” art installation.
Entry applications close on March 16, before the presentation of awards on March 29. People are invited to view the show from March 29 to April 2.
The show will be held at the Mechanics Institute Hall in High Street, Trentham.
