Then tell The Advocate and we can help you celebrate with the rest of the community.
The Hepburn Shire is steeped in sporting history. A classic example of this is Cricket Willow at Shepherds Flat, which is the only facility in the world where visitors can witness the process of cricket bat manufacture from start to finish.
The shire can also boast the 2017 Central Highlands Football League premiers in Hepburn Football Club. Or there’s the Daylesford Lawn Tennis Club, which has facilities attracting competitors from around the district. And not to mention the recently held Daylesford Gift, which was a big drawcard for some of Australia’s best athletes.
While stories about the bigger ticket sporting events is great, The Advocate also wants to celebrate the smaller – but no less important – achievements. Maybe your relative or friend is doing great things in the lesser known sporting fields. Maybe you know something who has received a life membership from their respective club or organisation after many years of service.
We want to know. So email your story ideas or results to either kim.quinlan@fairfaxmedia.com.au or hayley.elg@fairfaxmedia.com.au
