The band took out the prize for Band of the Year at the festival, while also winning its section in D grade, the award for best stage march in D grade and second of all bands in the street march competition.
Creswick Brass Band musical director Katrina Bird said the band played a challenging four-piece set.
“The band is improving all the time, and the success at Mt Gambier is a good stepping-stone for us to challenge in D Grade at the National Band Championships next Easter in Melbourne,” Ms Bird said.
Drum-major and band secretary Roger Clark said it was great to see the band having success again.
“Creswick back in the day was a champion marching band, so its nice to see that we can still pull off some good work on the parade-ground,” Mr Clark said.
The band will perform at the Creswick Carols by Candlelight on Saturday at 7.30pm.
