Ms Lebachen said holistic living was about being the best version of oneself to live a happy life.

“”There are so many aspects to us as human beings and a whole range of ways we connect to the world and express ourselves - spiritual, emotional, mental and physical – but if you can integrate all of those and you can acknowledge and validate them all you have a much happier life,” Ms Lebachen said.

“I think that is what we are here to do – we are here to become the best version of ourselves.”

Ms Lebachen said she was drawn to holistic living and well-being after feeling a gap in her life while studying at university.

“I realised that wasn’t the full answer to happiness, then I became an aerobics instructor and became super fit... But that is not the full answer either.”

Medyhne’s tips for holistic health

  • Drink filtered water
  • Listen to your body
  • Test what you eat to make sure it fits your nutrition needs
  • Find a relaxation or stress busting technique that suits you
  • Be mindful of your inner mental thoughts – if they’re not benefiting you, you can change them
  • Continue to be curious...to learn, be open, be flexible in your thinking and grow
  • Acknowledge your feelings; don’t suppress or ignore them

Ms Lebachen said it was important to be proactive about health.

“If you feel like you are being challenged by life and you are not sure how to deal with problems, there are always ways to do self-growth. You don’t have to sit in challenging stuff and not move forward – there are always ways you can resolve these situations.”

Free holistic living and well-being talks will be held at Clunes Railway Station on Thursday 6 at 7pm and in Ballarat at the Red Lion Hotel on Thursday, December 7 at 7pm.
