She was also nominated for ARIA Song Of The Year in 1998 for her epic ballad The Change In Me.
An accomplished live performer, Brumby has toured extensively, playing at music festivals, and has toured with artists including Don McLean, Paul Kelly and the late Jeff Buckley.
Thursday, Liz Frencham and Robbie Melville @ The Spa Bar Daylesford
Frencham is a veteran of festival stages across the country and the gig circuit around the area, in various ensembles.
Expect folk, bluegrass, jazz and blues, played on a double bass with passion, sensitivity and a smile.
Think “jazz/folk bass diva” or “wine-soaked love child of James Taylor and Julie London”. This show goes from sultry sass to raw intimacy, with a little side order of irreverent humour.
Performing funky pop covers with accomplished guitarist Robbie Melville.
Saturday, Bombay Royale @ Theatre Royal, Castlemaine
A world-conquering cult Melbourne band. Their music is a red-hot marsala of surf, spy, space disco and funk inspired by the sounds and spirit of 1970s and ’80s Bollywood. From unlikely beginnings in the badlands of suburban Melbourne, the band has taken its unique sound to audiences throughout Europe, UK and the US. Their music has even featured on Better Call Saul. Now that’s cool!
Friday, Sean Dixon @ Blue Bean Cafe, Hepburn Springs
Saturday, North East @ Blue Bean Cafe, Hepburn Springs
Sunday, Polar Bare @ Blue Bean Cafe, Hepburn Springs
Little Shop of Horrors, August 31-September 2 @ Castlemaine Town Hall
A classic, big cast school musical with more than 50 students from years 7-12 are involved in this production as part of the cast, crew and band. All participants have completed comprehensive rehearsals over the past term and are eager to perform to the wider community. A spectacular piece of theatre. Directed by some guy who writes a music column.
