Changes for Saints

At the recent annual general meeting, Cello Matricardi was named the club’s new president, while Graham Knights will take on the role of vice-president.

Joining them on the committee are Tim White, Samantha Whitehouse, David Wheeldon, Rick Evans, Sharon Dovaston, Tracey Keogh, Mark Keogh, Denise Knight, Faye Parks, Stacey Parks, Bakka Lendrec, Dan Lendrec, Tamara Papet, Quita Spiden, Mick Salsibury, Brian Purcell, Sarah Purcell, Jaquie McHenry, Curtis McNamara, Vicki Sundblom and Livia Bourke.

Coaching appointments for the 2017 season include Clayton Scoble, reappointed as senior coach with Rick Dowling assistant, Greg Fagan reserves, Dan Lendrec U/17.5s and Mark Strickland U/14.5s, with the U/11.5s still to be confirmed.

In netball, Erin Richardson will continue on as A and B Grade coach, Denise Knight C Grade and Chris Bandel is a new appointment taking over as U/17s coach.

The club is still to appoint coaches for U/13 and 15 netball.

Anyone interested in taking on a coaching position is asked to contact Mr Matricardi.

In taking over at the club helm, Mr Matricardi said he was excited about the upcoming 2017 season for the Saints.

“I have been pleased with the numbers at pre-season training and can’t wait to see all the new talent that has signed on in action. We are all looking forward to big year on and off the field and court,” Mr Matricardi said.

The committee has already been working hard in the off season and are running a summer draw, hay drive and have many other events booked for the season.

Senior football training began for the Saints on Monday this week. Training will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6.30pm until the end of March.

A training and information for U/17.5, U/14.5 & U/11.5 football and netball (all grades) will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at 6.30pm.
