Member for Ballarat Catherine King announced the grants during a recent visit to the Creswick Men’s Friendship Shed, which has received $5000 for new heating and cooling and the purchase of power tools.
Other groups to receive funding include $4704 to Clunes Neighbourhood House for computer equipment, $4977 to Creswick Soccer Club for computer equipment, fuel costs, volunteers training, first aid safety and landscaping and $3099 to Daylesford Neighbourhood House for computer equipment, travel contribution costs and to offset the cost of background screening checks on volunteers.
Girl Guides Lingbogol Camp, Creswick Visitor Information Centre, Daylesford Visitor Information Centre, Smeaton Bowling Club and Musk Fire Brigade also received funding.
“Volunteering has a strong presence throughout Hepburn Shire...helping out with local sporting teams and land care groups, responding to natural disasters and emergencies, or helping local charities support some of our most disadvantaged people,” Ms King said.
