The Tangled Maze will open an indoor activity centre at its site before the end of summer, including a synthetic ice rink, three-level play gym, a cafe, two children’s party rooms and smaller function room.
Judy Morrison, who owns Tangled Maze along with Noel Morrison, said the rink was an excellent addition to the maze.
“We’re very adamant about giving people a place that gives people a rest – and not playing with technology but being active,” she said.
“The maze allowed people to come out and enjoy the natural environment and play in good, clean fresh air.
“The play centre is taking it to the next level. It’s something people can conquer.”
The ice rink is made with high-density polyethylene and with a silicone glide on top, it needs to be maintained, swept and polished, but it isn’t cold or wet.
Construction began in April and while there is no official opening date, Ms Morrison said it would be open before the end of February.
