THE Trentham Saints tried hard but found Natte Bealiba too strong in Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League action.
Trentham played good football in passages but needed to be more consistent for four quarters to prove a problem to its opposition.
Goals for the Saints came from Luke Whitehouse, with three, and Josh Murphy, with two goals.
Among the best players were Lewis Bruton, Mark Strickland, Cal Wellings, Luke Whitehouse, James Wicker and Josh Murphy.
The Saints reserves also found Natte too strong and named in the best players were John Letchford, Isaac Jennings, Paul Smith, Jake Sundblom, Tom Ewers and Corie Slater.
Trentham under-17.5s had a convincing win this week with some great play from Cal Wellings, Robbie Byrne, Trystan Paderno, Ryan Bourke, John Iro and Tom Boyer.
In the under-15s Trentham was far too strong for Natte with five goals kicked by Darcy Meade-Sweet and four to Harrison Knight.
Trentham netball had a good start with the 13-and-under team winning well.
Best players were Holy Scoble and Kasey Evans.
In the 15-and-under sides, the girls played a great game and just went down to third-placed Natte by two goals.
Hayley Bourke and Tahlia Bickerdyke were among the best players in 17-and-under, but the girls found Natte too strong on the day.
The C-grade team tried hard but found Natte too strong.
The B-grade side is improving, but Natte were too slick once again.
Best players in the B-grade game were Emma Wheeldon and Madeline Matheson.
The A-grade team took on the top side with Holly Wheeldon and Merryn Thompson among the best players — but Natte showed its strength.
