Bridget Bodenham of Hepburn Springs, Minna Graham of Coomoora, Kim Haughie of Springmount and Marina Pribaz of Daylesford took part in two-day event as part of Craft Victoria’s Open Studios Craft Cubed festival.
Pribaz said it was the first time she had opened her studio to the public, with much of her recent work inspired by a trip to the Pilbara and its stunning landscapes.
Bodenham, whose bush studio and home is made up of interlocked shipping containers, is well-known for her delicate artworks, some of which include simple images of clouds, worms and birds.
“The early bird gets the worm,” she explained.
Haughie, who was also opening to the public for the first time and had only just finished her studio space, said she was inspired by a recent trip to Japan with Minna Graham. The pair had taken part in ceramic workshops and were looking forward to returning, she said.
Haughie, who makes her own clay from a dam on her property, said the four ceramacists were keen to create an “arts trail” in Hepburn Shire. It would create another interest for tourists and locals, she said.
