VicRoads acting regional director Mal Kersting said some design changes have been made to allow large trucks more room to pass through.
“The roundabout has been specially designed to allow heavy vehicles to move around it safely. We have made some design changes, including mountable edges that give particularly large trucks more room,” he said.
Some motorists have complained traffic lights are unnecessary while work is not underway at the site.
Mr Kersting said the traffic lights will be in place until concrete is poured in the centre of the roundabout.
"To keep everyone safe, traffic lights do need to remain in place until we pour the concrete in the centre of the roundabout, which we expect to do within the next two weeks,” he said. "We are grateful for everyone's patience during construction. We look forward to opening the roundabout in coming weeks.”
