He adds to an already wealth of AFL experience, including spearhead Brendan Fevola, Nick Kommer and Tayte Pears, in the Panther line-up to face North Ballarat City in the Anzac Day clash at Melton Recreation Reserve.
Melton South joint coach Sean Triplett said Derickx was a good friend of Kommer – they are both from Western Australia – and this link had been a key in attracting the 29-year-old.
Triplett said the Panthers hoped to have Derickx play six to eight home and away games, with him to miss the middle phase of the season while in Europe fulfilling professional commitments as a model.
Richmond drafted Derickx from Claremont in the WAFL with selection 63 in the 2010 national AFL draft.
He played just two AFL games in three seasons with the Tigers before being secured by Sydney as a delisted free agent
Derick played 13 games with Sydney from 2014 to 2016.
