He is known for dressing up in his Santa suit, sitting out the front of his Christmas kingdom and handing out lollies to delighted children.
Mr Porter and his wife Dot have had a busy November.
His yard is decorated with blow up Santa Clause – on a reindeer, climbing up a chimney and clamouring on the roof.
The vibrant, fun display comes to life at night when some of the creations move – and Rudolf and his reindeers scamper across the roof.
They are looking forward to switching the lights on on November 28.
“People should know, they don’t have to go to Ballarat to see lights – they are right here in Creswick,” he said.
Last year Mr Porter delighted kids with a bubble machine – but this year there had to be snow.
“I do it for the look on kids faces when they see the lights.”
Mr Porter has vowed to continue his Christmas tradition for as long as he can.
Even though he has been banned by his family from hanging up the roof-top decoration.
But do you think that stops Mr Porter? He just chuckles.
Mr Porter will be one of the many keen Christmas decorators entering their designs in the The Courier Christmas lights competition.
Entries will officially open on Saturday, November 21 and will remain open for a week.

Mr Porter says no one in his street had dared to decorate their house.
They know the competition will be too tough.
“Plus the traffic would be too much,” Mr Porter said.
You can see Mr Porter’s Winter Wonderland at 166 Ballarat Road, Creswick. Make a trip to Creswick with the family … you won’t be disappointed.
