The Grande Hotel welcomes the return of Issi Dye following a highly successful performance singing tunes by Elvis Presley and Johnny O’Keefe a few weeks back. This time he returns to sing the songs from the super smooth Dean Martin and Bobby Darin in one of his most popular shows “The Crooners”.
Join Issi singing songs such as Sway, Everybody Loves Somebody, That’s Amore, Dream Lover, Beyond the Sea, Mack the Knife and more.
Saturday, July 25 , Davey Craddock @ Perfect Drop
WA's “wide-open landscapes, crane-dotted skyline and boomtown growing pains are the backdrop” to Perth-based Americana artist Davey Craddock’s songwriting.
Craddock was nominated for three WAMi Awards (Folk Song Of the Year, Country Song of the Year and Best Country Act), won Best Group at the WA Country Music Awards, was added to the bill of the West Coast Blues and Roots Festival and named in Americana blogs Sun 209 (Nashville) and Post To Wire’s (Sydney) yearly best of lists. In 2014 Craddock also played two sell out shows supporting Australian folk icons The Waifs between putting the finishing touches on his debut album due for release this year.
Sunday, July 26, Sarah Carroll and Ukulele Carnivale @ The Old Hepburn Hotel
Sarah Carroll is an original singer/songwriter, well known for her work with GIT, The Junes, The Cartridge Family, The Pirates Of Beer, partner Chris Wilson, and Aine Tyrrell and Jackie Marshall.
Sarah teaches ukulele and guitar to kids and grown ups around the Bellarine Peninsula and performs with her students at community events whenever possible.
Sarah's current releases include Country Con Queso, the latest all-singin' all swinging' manifesto from The Junes, and Soft Gold, and an album of duets with Marcel Borrack.
These songs were described by Marty Jones of Rhythms as "pretty, plaintive and exquisite…classic". She specialises in country, but loves the bossa nova and has rhythm and blues in her heart!
Sarah will team up with Bellarine Peninsula based singer/songwriter duo Narelle Jolley and Susan Russell (aka Sweet Delores) who formed Ukulele Carnivale in mid-2013.
Their signature harmonies and musicianship, a feature of their live performances, take you on a carnival ride of stories about cads, gamblers, circus folk, longing, lost love, country miles and musings of beauty and wonder.
In a short time they have wowed audiences, sharing the bill with some of Australia’s finest including Tex Perkins, Charlie Owen, Chris Wilson, Sarah Carroll, Shane Howard, Dog Trumpet and the JVG Guitar Method. They were also very well received at the 2015 and 2014 Melbourne Ukulele Festival and the 2013 Deniliquin Ukulele Festival.
