The Ageing Well Talk Series is designed to engage the community on ageing issues and encourage residents to start thinking about how they want their future to unfold.
The project arose from a forum last December, which focused on the needs and nature of caregiving for ageing family and friends.
The first talk, covering Positive Ageing, will be on Thursday May 21, from 3pm to 4.30pm at the Seniors Citizen Rooms, Daylesford Town Hall.
Project coordinator Mary-Faeth Chenery will ask attendees to think about their hopes and goals for older age and for being cared for.
"We want to help families start conversations with their older relations about what they want and need as they age," she said.
Hepburn Health Service manager Gabrielle Kirby and Hepburn Shire Council Aged and Disability Services area manager Melanie Perks will also be available to answer questions at the event.
Following talks will be scheduled every third Thursday of each month until November.
An Ageing Well Planner is also being developed to help community members gather and organise essential information for ageing and caregiving.
