Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas visited Trentham CFA last week to announce up to $12.54 million under the Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program.
She said it would aim to protect lives and property across the state.
The grants can be used to purchase additional operational equipment, vehicles, trucks, tankers, watercraft, trailers and support for minor facility improvements.
“Volunteers across Hepburn Shire and surrounding areas perform a vital role and are the backbone of the emergency services organisations that we all rely upon," Ms Thomas said.
"Their dedication and hard work keeps our community safe and help us recover in times of emergency."
The government will contribute $2 for every $1 of funding contributed by the local volunteer groups.
The program is open to the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Association, Country Fire Authority, Fife Saving Victoria, Victoria State Emergency Service and oher eligible volunteer emergency services groups as defined in the Emergency Management Manual Victoria.
