The Hepburn and Daylesford coaches expect the Demons to win a close battle against Springbank in this Saturday’s grand final at Eureka Stadium.
“Bungaree were on top of the ladder all season,’’ Adams said.
“Springbank has done well to make the grand final from where they were, but I think Bungaree might be a bit too strong.”
Raak said the forecast wet weather would suit the Demons.
“Bungaree has handled the wet conditions better than Springbank this year,’’ Raak said.
“Bungaree has changed its forward structure in the last few weeks and that’s made them more dangerous.
“About a month ago I said Springbank could be one of the teams to beat, but I reckon Bungaree will get over the line by seven points.”
Bungaree and Springbank have met once this season in round four on May 3.
In a low-scoring contest, the Demons rallied from a three-goal deficit to win a thriller by two points, 6.13 (49) to 6.11 (47).
“Springbank does have some ex-VFL players so that experience will help them,’’ Adams said.
“They’ve played their best footy in the finals once the grounds have got firmer.
“They are very athletic, even their tall players are quick.”
Springbank knocked Hepburn out of the finals race in the semi-finals.
“Springbank has the momentum, but it is very hard to win the flag from the elimination final,’’ Raak said.
The CHFL grand final will be played at Eureka Stadium in Ballarat from 2.45pm on Saturday.
