Hepburn, who last won the A-grade title in 2011, will be aiming to cap off its near-perfect season when it takes on Skipton in Saturday’s final.
Last season the Burras lost the preliminary final match and failed to make the grand final, however it was a different story this season.
Hepburn coach Gary Cooke admitted the team felt the pressure heading into the match, but said once the first whistle was blown the team was ready to fire.
“Before the game we spoke about dealing with the pressure on and off the court,” he said.
“We knew from the start we had to put the foot down and really play as hard as we could because we wanted Learmonth to play catch up netball.
“It was both a physically and mentally exhausting game.”
In the end Hepburn won 43 to 29 and progressed through to the grand final.
“All though we had won by 14 goals, it was a really tight game,” Cooke said.
“I am very happy with how they all played, they stuck to it and played really well.”
Cooke said it was a good game to have on the eve of the grand final.
“It was a great team effort, our goal keeper played well and our goal shooter was outstanding but everyone in between did their role,” he said.
“Our timing was excellent, the support was excellent, the decision making was good and everyone remained composed.”
The team will now turn its attention to recovery before Saturday’s grand final.
“We will do our recovery and then later in the week, turn our focus to the match,” Cooke said.
“We will train on Thursday night, it will only be a light session, it will be a lot of talk and we might work on a couple of our court plays.”
Hepburn will play Skipton in the final, after they caused one of the biggest upsets in the Central Highlands modern era.
Skipton, who finished sixth on the ladder, defeated Springbank 53 to 49.
Springbank hadn’t lost a game in the past two seasons and were the red-hot favourite to claim the A-grade premiership.
Cooke said Skipton were worthy winners.
He said Saturday’s final would be a strategic game.
“Hepburn and Springbank have very similar game styles,” Cooke said.
“We flow down the court where as Skipton are a bit more stagnant.
“We need to stick to our game plan and our one-on-one defence.
“We know what the pressure will be like, we have been there before, so we can keep our calm on court.”
Earlier this season Hepburn defeated Skipton by 20 goals.
The A-grade Central Highlands grand final will be played at Eureka Stadium at 2.30pm on Saturday.
