Debating coordinator Helen Robinson said of the 19 debates the school participated in, students won 15, including two of the three finals.
The grand final was held on August 25, with the Daylesford Primary School winning their Grade 5/6 final, arguing that reality television has a rightful place on our screens.
In the year 7/8 final, Cameron Perkel, Lola Jackson and Ceilidh Wratten were successful in winning the debate, 'Manners define the person', taking the affirmative side.
The Daylesford’s team of Sarah Bertoncello, Aidan Mayger and Bella Thomas were runners up in the year 9/10 final, arguing for the topic “Technology is destroying our society”.
In the year 11/12 final, Jade Eccles, Lotus Hackenberger and Callan Wellings won against Ballarat High, taking the negative in the debate, “That war is the natural state”.
Debating coordinator Helen Robinson said it had been another successful debating season for the school.
