Creswick won the D-grade championships last year and so this year competed in the C-grade for the first time in over 40 years.
The band took home a win - accepted by drum major Benjamin Gray - for their street march, impressing the adjudicator Brian Hurdley with their rendition of the Hokey Pokey.
Mr Gray picked up the award for best junior drum major at the National Championships in Melbourne last year.
The championships are hosted over the Easter weekend every year and involved participating bands marching through the streets of Brisbane's central business district.
Creswick Brass Band did not place in the on-stage sections but acquitted themselves well despite several band members arriving late due to flight cancellations and one band member having to borrow a trombone for the performance.
Musical Director Katrina Bird said she was happy with the band's performance.
"I'd really like to thank all our players for their dedication, to win the march was wonderful, and to see how the crowds enjoyed our rendition of the Hokey Pokey put a smile on all our faces. We all had a great time," she said.
