LYONVILLE Hall will play host to a new initiative aiming to bring the community together.
The Café de Lyonville will officially open this week after months of consultation and planning.
In its initial stage, the café will be open three mornings a week - Tuesday, Friday and Sunday - but it is hoped it can open more often if supported.
An industrial coffee machine was purchased by café organiser Paul Spiel.
Lyonville resident Vicki Jackson said the cafe would be staffed by volunteers.
"The idea was to provide coffee locally and allow people to meet each other."
She said it would provide a local space for mums and bubs to meet, due to the on-site playground, as well as others who can't travel far, like the elderly.
Proceeds will go towards building a covered seating area as well as the purchase of an on-site pizza oven.
