Sadly, the Spa Bar Daylesford closed its doors after the long weekend, a much-loved venue.

Get in for last drinks at the Old Hepburn Hotel. Meals and tears, not long left: last weekend.

There's the usual Friday night festivities, Happy Hour from 6-8pm, Joker Poker, Bar Wars and community raffle, plus Bernie’s final jokes.

March 16 & 17 is The Last Hurrah … lineup to be announced.

Saturday, Emily Grant @Palais, Hepburn

Emily Coyle (piano, vocals) and rock-loving guitarist Grant Staines. Palais salon show, 8.30-10.30pm.

Friday, Nathan Power @ Blue Bean Cafe

Saturday, Scott Fraser @ Blue Bean Cafe

Sunday, Vanessa Craven @ Blue Bean Cafe

Craven, of Welsh-Indian background, is an Australian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She has been passionate about guitar playing since her early teens in India.

Since 2009, she has played her music in a variety of events and venues such.

On this occasion, Don Gula on double bass and Craven on guitar, lap-slide, and harmonica will play as a duo, bringing some smooth vocals and easy listening.

Music which goes well with a glass or two of wine, beer or some Blue Bean coffee.

Saturday, March 16, J.Mascis @ Theatre Royal Castlemaine

This is a big gig. Certainly all fans of legends Dinosaur Jr will be salivating.

The former Dinosaur Jr frontman has just released Elastic Days, his fourth solo studio album.

It's his first solo release since Tied To A Star in 2014.

Mascis played all the instruments on the album, which also features guest appearances from Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession) and Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion) and Zoe Randell of Aussies Luluc.

On tour, Mascis plays an acoustic guitar plugged into an amp with his usual main boggling array of pedals and effects.

It's still loud, but somehow he has the laid back sonic ability to whisper above the maelstrom.

“… big alternative hits like a stripped back Get Me proved favourites, with Mascis' liberal use of effect pedals and looping providing a deceptive full-band sound at times.” - Scenestar Sydney
