The celebrations will commence with a family-friendly gala at 6pm. Old-fashioned games like hoola hoops and coconut shy and a giant inflatable slide will entertain at the kids corner.

Other entertainment will include a wood chop and performances by Eric the street performer, Sprung Circus and Inside Out Dance Theatre. 

An abundance of food vans will provide plenty of choice for sustenance throughout the evening, while all proceeds from a barbecue will go towards finding a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.

Afterwards, community members will represent their clubs by marching or riding down Vincent Street in an assortment of floats.

Visitors are encouraged to dress up to bring in the New Year, even if they are not participating in the parade, as spot prizes will be given out throughout the night for those wearing the best costumes. 

Committee member Anne E Stewart said people were encouraged to stick around after the parade for a spectacular light show. Following the success of Lit Up! Daylesford earlier in the year, artist Andrew Howie will return to light up the Town Hall once again.

Funded through the Regional Centre for Culture and Spa Country Events, the sound and light spectacular will showcase images of the shire from throughout the year. 

Entry forms for the parade can be picked up from Daylesford Visitor Information Centre and returned before close of business on December 31.
