The team claimed a seven-shot win over the Hawks, which suffered just their second loss of the 2018-19 campaign.
Clunes climbed to sixth spot on the ladder following the triumph, while City Oval was able to keep its place at the top.
Central Wendouree was also surprise winners, beating an Avenue side that slipped from second to fourth.
Other round 10 winners on Monday included Creswick, Sebastopol and Buninyong.
