Dr Drennen was instrumental in ameliorating the college’s residential program in Clunes. She was thanked by four former mayors of Hepburn Shire Council for her commitment to the community at her farewell earlier this month.
Cameron Ward councillor Neil Newitt said Dr Drennen had been a powerful advocate for building strong community partnerships in Clunes and the wider community.
Head of Wesley at Clunes, Ben Marsland, said embedding the Wesley program into the community at Clunes had been a priority for Dr Drennen.
“The Wesley at Clunes program is a big part of the legacy of Dr Drennen, who has been Principal since 2003. Her vision has been to ensure it is deeply embedded in Clunes through important partnerships, and that vision ensures the program will endure and continue to grow with the community,” he said.
The residential learning program gives students an opportunity to give back to the community through musical performances, craft, landscaping and environmental projects around the shire, as well as volunteering with senior citizens and with local businesses.
