While there is a core of locals who play weekly, the club also affords casual players the opportunity to join in when they wish.
Last season, casual players came from Ballarat, Kingston, Maryborough, Trentham and Carisbrook and further afield locations including Holland, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The club does not have set teams so players do not need to commit to playing each week, rather, members are invited to show up for an afternoon of fun, competitive tennis when they please.
The players for each section are determined on the day, with the aim being to group players of similar ability together.
Sections comprise of between five or 10 people who play four sets with partners who change each set, with set winners determined by the first side to win six games.
After four sets, the winner, who takes home a DLTC glass, is the player with the highest percentage of games divided by games lost.
Every player must play four sets, but there are always spare courts for social players to have a hit.
