The Saints began their season against Hanging Rock on their home turf at McCashney Oval.
Trentham opted to bat first after Saints captain Adam Prewett won the toss. The game was short and sweet, with Trentham bowled out with 26 overs and a score of 94.
Top scorers for the Saints were Harley Forgo with 49 runs and Chris Boyer with 12. Trentham’s best bowler was Adam Prewett with one wicket for four runs, while Tom Boyer had a terrific direct hit run out and catch, running back with flight.
Trentham had four ducks in the innings.
For the opposing side, the best bowler was Peter Walsh with four wickets for 18 runs off his seven overs, while Paul Keane was the strongest player as an unbeaten batsmen on four not out.
Hanging Rock chased down the runs in 25 overs, losing six wickets to 98 runs.
Top scorers for Hanging Rock were their Captain Branton Hocking with 29 runs and Jarrod Milsom with 18 runs not out.
