VEAC Chair Janine Haddow said there had been a lot of interest in the draft recommendations and encouraged community members to develop submissions on in regards to the investigation areas like Traditional Owner interests, conservation areas, threatened species, recreational and resource uses, headwaters and landscape connectivity.
“We want to provide people with the information and time they need to prepare their submissions so we have extended the submission closing date.”
Ms Haddow said the decision came after a number of well attended public consultation events during which community members had requested further time to consider the information and write their submissions.
She said all submissions would be reviewed and analysed before VEAC’s provides its final report to the Victorian government in early 2019.
