The group visited the Central Goldfields region to work out how to best target and promote the region to tourists.
Greeted on horseback by locals, the group was given a gourmet snack pack from restaurant Quigley and Clarke before being taken on a historical tour of the town, including the court house and town hall.
Ms Scott said the the tour was a fantastic way to showcase the town to the tourism body so it can assist with boosting the town’s economy.
“It was a great way to showcase our beautiful town and its history, including its being Victoria’s first gold town,” she said.
She said one American woman told her an international audience would love the western look of the town and the gold prospecting which continues to take place.
After Clunes, the group visited Tuki Trout Farm before travelling to the Hepburn Mineral Springs and Creswick Woolen Mills.
