Grant was awarded the 2018 Sportsman’s Association of Australia Ballarat Branch CHFL Rookie of the year last Wednesday September 12.
He played 16 senior games this season in his first full year at the senior level, as well as a final.
Grant made his senior debut two seasons ago and also made one appearance last year while still focusing on under-18s. He was named in Hepburn’s best on ground nine times.
Unfortunately Grant was unable to attend the Sportsmen’s Association of Australia Ballarat branch dinner to receive the award after breaking a leg in a trail bike riding accident late last week. His father Jamie Grant, who accepted the award on his behalf, said Jordan had had a rod inserted in the leg and would most likely miss the 2019 football season.
The Burras’ seniors were eliminated from the CHFL finals in a two-point loss to Newlyn.
Other finalists: Lachlan Conlan (Ballan), Blake Welsh (Clunes), Liam Blake (Creswick), Patrick Parr (Newlyn), Jeremy Richardson (Rokewood-Corindhap), Bailey Thompson (Skipton), Flynn Donegan (Springbank).
