To celebrate Australian Reading Hour, members of the public are invited to attend, enjoy a supper and a presentation by author, Anna Mitchell, who left her job as an accountant to follow her dreams.
Mitchell will delight with tales of her travelling adventures from her latest book Fat Chick Goes AWOL.
Australian Reading Hour encourages people to stop what they are doing for an hour and pick up a book.
The national event encourages Australians to rediscover, or introduce themselves to the benefits of reading, through setting time aside to learn, grow, escape and relax.
At the end of the evening, those who attend are able to choose two or three books to take home from the library’s fiction and non-fiction collections.
The evening is a free event, but bookings are essential. To book, pop into the library, or phone on 5424 1326.
