Sunday, Eddie Nuardo @ Bridge Hotel Castlemaine
Having recently launched his debut album The Good Whiskey Never Lasts, Nuardo and band head out for an afternoon of alt-country, folk and old-time songs.
Nuardo’s album features stellar performances by bluegrass musician Pete Fidler (Bluestone Junction), fiddle player John Bedggood (The Wilson Pickers) and country stalwart Luke Richardson (The Stetson Family, Raised By Eagles), with the sweet vocals of Helena Plazza. Performing two sets of originals alongside some old favourites, fans of acoustic alt-country are sure to find something to like.
Calamity Jane @ Castlemaine Town Hall, August 30-September 1
A classic, old Hollywood style, big-cast school musical. More than 50 students from years 7-12 are involved as part of the cast, crew and band. Participants have completed comprehensive rehearsals over the past term and are eager to perform for the community. A spectacular, piece of theatre, I’m told, not to be missed. Directed by some guy who writes a music column. Tickets at trybooking.com
