VERSATILE: The Family Farm Band are returning to the Spa Bar in Daylesford this weekend. Expect a unique blend of styles that you can really dance to.

Imagine a trip from an old-time Appalachian front porch through the country, bluegrass and blues of the American deep south – with a detour to shake a leg at an Australian bush dance.

March down Bourbon Street for some New Orleans jazz, sail to the Caribbean for carnival calypso, Jamaica’s ska and reggae and the bossa nova of the beaches of Brazil, finally landing on the dance floor of venues round here. That’s where Family Farm makes their home. And like The Resignators, you can dance to them!

Friday, Friday Frivolities @ Old Hepburn Hotel

The usual Friday night festivities. Happy Hour from 6-8pm, cocktails, plus trivia, Joker Poker, bar wars, community raffle and footy tips.

Saturday, Sean Dixon @ Old Hepburn Hotel

Dixon is a Daylesford-based singer-songwriter. Self-taught on guitar and piano, he has spent substantial parts of his youth travelling the world sharing his songs. From teaching guitar to kids in an orphanage in northern India, to busking in the old town of Stockholm, Dixon has shared his musical rhythm among many.

Friday, Jazz Deuce @ Blue Bean Cafe

Featuring Norm Gray on flugelhorn and vocals and Simon Wigney on guitar, this duo plays the great American jazz standards of the 1930s through to the ’50s. Tunes made popular by Sinatra, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart and Jobim provide a nice background to wining, dining, romancing and relaxing.
