Round 17 was the final round of the normal season before the finals.
Hepburn drew with Learmonth 42-42 in Learmonth, while Clunes defeated Rokewood on their home court, 42-35.
Meanwhile, on their home courts, Newlyn was defeated 30-32 by Beaufort, Daylesford was defeated 12-80 by Dunnstown and Creswick was defeated 35-58 by Springbank.
Meanwhile in the B-grade CHNL matches, Newlyn, Hepburn and Clunes all ended their 2018 seasons with a bang.
Newlyn defeated Beaufort 60-17, Hepburn defeated a strong Learmonth outfit in a close match, 43-40, and Clunes defeated Rokewood 37-18.
Daylesford and Creswick were not strong enough, despite being on their respective home courts.
Daylesford was defeated by Dunnstown 15-64 and Creswick was defeated by Springbank 31-41.
